FPL Grammar

Documentation status: guide — see Maturity and evidence.

FPL is an expression and scripting language used in logiCells artifacts that allow it. The exact grammar is versioned with the Runtime.

Construction families

Programming documentation covers, among other things:

  • values and variables;
  • expressions and calls;
  • functions and lambdas;
  • control flow;
  • collections;
  • access to Runtime context;
  • actions on published objects and data.

Documentation rules

An example should:

  1. use public model names;
  2. avoid private engine classes or functions;
  3. state when a construction is version-dependent;
  4. distinguish illustrative syntax from a certified contract;
  5. be validated by the target Runtime parser before publication as an exact reference.

Compatibility

Do not infer availability because a similar syntax existed in a historical version. For exhaustive references, the generated or certified grammar of the target version takes precedence.
