Type Metadata
Reference: This page is a source-based technical synthesis of the LaTeX chapter cited below. For exact syntax, availability or ABI signatures, verify the versioned source, manifest and executable tests.
Scope and source boundary
Metadata defines declared structure and meaning; its compatibility must be checked against the actual schema/grammar.
Declarative metadata describes model elements and their structure; the assembled application resolves packages, inheritance and overrides before execution. The source differentiates source-aware declarations from compiled or activated runtime representations. Exact syntax and capability claims remain subject to the recorded grammar and tested release.
Engineering rules
- Keep the original declaration and the assembled application metadata conceptually separate.
- Resolve packages and overrides before attributing runtime behavior to a class or field.
- Verify attribute names and examples against the current declarative grammar.
- Avoid treating a source file path as a stable public application identifier.
